i have felt that pressure before as well, to try to get into K-pop, because all of my close friends like K-pop, and some of my closest JE friends have turned to K-pop, so it just kind of felt like they were drifting away because the fandom was what helped us bond, so i tried to give K-pop a try, and my friends even send me songs and stuff, but...in the end, i'm just not interested, so just like you, i just realized it's okay for me to like what i like and not go along with what's popular just because everyone else likes it. i really do wish that all of us lived close to each other so we can always hang out and have JE parties though.

I think those music neighborhoods need to be a real thing! living in neighborhoods according to music tastes! i'd love to live in that neighborhood or even apartment complex!! ^^ I really do wish I lived closer to y'all too!! ;^; I live on the east coast in virginia D: no one knows about JE here! and yes the feeling that you can't relate to your friends as much because you no longer like the same thing is a reason why I struggled with this the most! I'm the only one out of my friends and (i'm not asian XD) but also out of the asian girls that really likes japanese things and JE. Everyone likes Korean things now~ I don't want to say I actually grew out of kpop becuase i don't want to grow out of JE, but I've moved on? i suppose. I also just wish that the obligation worked both ways, like they felt a need to keep up with JE which they NEVER do! :P

lol, maybe we don't have to go that extreme, but it would be nice if we all lived within like an hour from each other xD but it definitely goes both ways, some of my friends moved on to Kpop. they still casually follow JE , but it's not the same as it was like a few years back.
