Summary: The Mother of Dragons discovers the miracle of birth.
Author's Note: Written for phoenikxs for International Women's Day, 2012. She requested a drabble featuring Dany and the prompt bear.
Nothing could be so miraculous, Dany thought, as walking through fire and not being burnt, emerging the Mother of Dragons.
She continued to think it for the turn of nine moons, through her days-long labor, and even as she lay, sweaty and bloody and exhausted from birth.
Until Maege placed the bundle in her arms: all chubby thighs and dimpled fingers, shoulders and the tops of the perfect shells of his ears covered in downy black fuzz, and she beheld what she had made in the womb once pronounced barren.
Her voice trembled. "I am the mother of a bear."
