We all know that electronic media is changing the way people read, so it goes without saying that it's changing the way people publish. Or maybe even how people get published.
This post on an agent blog I follow caught my interest, and I wonder what those of you in the process of finding agents/editors/publishers/etc. make of it. (I thought this might be especially interesting to y'all because of a comment about fanfiction readers/writers, which, IMO, has great bearing on this subject and the future of e-publishing.)
Have any of you considered self-publication? Why or why not?
I have to confess, while I've always eschewed self-publication, as I get more rejection or silent responses from agents, the more tempted I am to go this route. I'm especially interested in the idea of serialization to attract a following, possibly in a blog format.
I've left this post unlocked in the hope that those of you with friends in the writing business will direct them here to lend their insight to the discussion.
