I did a major double take when I logged in last night and saw that yes, mrstater , despite being a little busy now-a-days, actually wrote a new R/T piece! Makes me ashamed that I can't find the time to get my R/T art going when all I have to work around is rehearsals, DIY projects and needy kitties.

Needless to say (but I'm gonna say it anyway) I thoroughly enjoyed this short excursion into Remus and Tonks-land. You haven't lost your touch with these two. It had just the right mix of banter, insecurity and angst to make it a proper R/T story. Plus, it was educational! Almost too educational, but thanks, just the same.;)

I'd also like to thank you for not doing this one in the Spock/Uhura ship. ;)

Hee -- I suspected you might blink your eyes and refresh the screen to see if you were really seeing this. I don't know how I managed to write fic with a new baby when I was pregnant and not doing anything and couldn't write a thing. Unless there is something to my theory about pregnancy being too physically creative a time to allow for mental creativity!

Anyway, I'm very happy you enjoyed this and thought it worked for R/T.

I...cannot even imagine Spock having this kind of discussion. Though now you've got me curious to try writing this same fic with him instead, just for how he would phrase "giant great tits." I'm thinking there might be words like "milk ducts."

I couldn't believe I was seeing R/T fic from you - how many pairs of hands have you got?!

And also how very nice to see R/T from you again. I'm in full agreement with drumher that you certainly haven't lost your touch with them, and I particularly liked Remus' voice here. It's a great mix of Remus-like insecurity, wry humour (I loved the lines about how he's recognising he's becoming quite adapt at the art of denial, and about them living with mum-in-law - it occurred to me that he always ends up living with someone's mother;)), and reassuring Tonks in exactly the way she needs with words and actions.

Hope there's going to be lots more Tater R/T to entertain me now!:D Though please give me warning if you're tackling the joys of nappy changing next, lol.

The good thing about newborns is that they sleep a lot. And they get better at nursing, so I've got longer breaks in between. Usually. ;)

I'm so glad you liked this! I was really hoping Remus and Tonks felt like themselves in this scenario, and that the humor came across! I was afraid it was just crass and sleep-deprived. ;) LOL Poor Remus does always end up living with people's mothers! I never thought of that before.

So you roll onto your side and curl your arm under your pillow and force yourself not to think about this war and its cost to your family and your curse and its, and allow a smile to stretch across your lips as you watch Dora, stood naked on the bathroom scale.

*giggles* Weight Witches. I love how you throw Muggle things in to a wizarding way.

"Morphing's cheating," you say now, as she'd explained her reasoning to you then. "And Hufflepuffs never cheat."

As she speaks she saunters up to the bedside, and you stretch out a hand to fondle her breasts. "As if you need to morph giant great tits anymore."hahaha they wouldn't cheat when they're determined to do something - like lose weight normally. I agree - I can see Tonks choosing to not morph it all away

I nearly fell off my chair last night (morning, actually) when I saw this. Having convinced myself that yes, it was indeed you with R/T fic, I set off to read :)

You have not lost your touch with these two at all, I could still see the Tater-ness in this - the extra thing that makes your writing so very special.

I absolutely love how very "typical-male" you made Remus here. And his insecurities just skimming the surface this time, instead of being let out in a way that caused black-haired kids to go careening into a wall ;) Tonks' behaviour is so her, and it was nice to see her being uncertain about her post-partum natural body - from keeping tabs on her weight to accepting that her body is not what it used to be before and during pregnancy. And most of all, Remus and Tonks being themselves - despite everything - Remus' wry sense of humour provides a good seasoning for this fic.

Lovely work, dear! So glad to see you writing again.
