Serpents: Epilouge

Eight hours to Deathly Hallows! Are y'all all rarin' to get your mitts on your books? I'm in Group E at my Barnes and Noble, which means only something like 100 people in front of me in line. As I was waiting to get my ticket this morning (in the blazing Texas heat, wearing jeans, stupidly drinking a hot toffee nut latte I'd bought for caffeine ( Read more... )

I love this story. All the ups and downs, the arguments (Remus is such a noble prat sometimes!)... I cheered out loud when he kissed her in front of "whole. damn. Order of the Phoenix." and then proceeded to do a little happy dance just because. XD

Thank you very much! I'm so pleased the kiss in front of the whole. damn. Order of the Phoenix made you do a little happy dance. :: does a little happy dance ::

You've been popping up round here and ff.net and if Jackie thinks you're cool, I bet you are. Can I friend you?

Wow!!

Oh, thank you, thank you for this lovely read. I adore Tonks' last little Muffliato and outburst--kind of a parallel to the one that follows in HBP--and then Remus' BANG! kiss in front of the whole Order. Love it, love it, love it!

This entire story has been so wonderful on so many levels, and I can't recall the tags you've used but there had to be ever genre included; it read like a true HP novel, which is no surprise--but the depth covered behind the entire dynamic, all of the trials and background, provide such a satisfying fill to the gaps JKR left behind with our teeny peeks into the R/T world. You have truly given them a story, and I wholly look forward to more that you will undoubtedly--and hopefully, with dearest hope!--have in store.

In this final installment, my favorite part was hands-down the ending but I also really, really love the part where Remus looks at her in full confidence, as well as how Albus distinguishes them from the Death Eaters, which is something that sounds so Dumbledorian ( ... )

I didn't really mean to jump out of order in the Magical Creatures universe, but I'm glad I did because it helped me get a better scope for where the relationship comes from and where it goes with this POA start, and I'm just glad you liked it on its own for this challenge, because once the idea took hold, it wouldn't let go. And I'm glad you liked the end so much, too. I didn't know where it was going to wind up for the longest time, but always I intended Dumbledore to say something, using my prompt quote, and I liked the idea of doing a kind of pre-post hospital scene for them that would later jog Remus' memory and conscience later.

Thank you so much for your lovely words. I cannot tell you how appreciated they are. :)

I will now become the random nerd who admits to reading old LJ entries because this was too good not to comment on.

Awesome fic! It totally made my day and made me happy and made me ship, not that I really needed much help with that.

I loved the way you showed Remus' and Tonks' relationship, especially as I've always wondered how she and Kingsley ended up in the Order. So cute, so sweet, so perfect!

LOL You didn't have to trawl too far back to find this one! And I'm so glad you found it and enjoyed it. Thank you very much for your lovely words about it. This take is a fun one for me -- if you want to see how Tonks and Kingsley wind up in the Order, that'll be covered in the real start of where this story came from, Caring For Magical Creatures.

Thank you for reading and commenting!

Well, I read the beginning of Caring for Magical Creatures before I read this, so I did a bit of trawling. ;)

Oooh goodie! I really have wondered how they were recruited.

Hee. Trawling is good. ;)

And I shall be sure to include chapters about how they were recruited. ;)

Thanks again!

In the course of going through the metamorfic_moon posts, I decided that to really appreciate this one, I'd have to go read "Caring for Magical Creatures," and that combined with reading Serpents itself took me some time. Anyhow, I guess you can consider this a sort of meta-review of that + Serpents ( ... )

Thanks for poking your head in and taking the time to comment! I really appreciate your thoughts, especially as the POA timeline is definitely something to raise one's eyebrows at! I'm not really sure why I decided to do one, because I know it's far-fetched, but I just love Remus so much at that time, and I think it's a point in his life where his self-esteem would be high enough that if the right opportunity came along, he'd date in a heartbeat. The prospect of Tonks just coming into her own at that same time was too much to resist, so here I am, trying to make it as plausible as I can, and I'm very glad you think I've achieved that so far, and that you find Tonks endearing even as she's growing up.

Thanks very much for your lovely words. I'm looking forward to updating with Ch. 6 of Creatures, though at the moment rt_challenge has waylaid me yet again with jumping ahead to DH in this ficverse. But I won't stay away much longer from the chronological updates! Finally I'm finding my groove after DH!

Squee! Yesterday was a truly rotten day what with discovering that we need a totally new A/C, so this review that would have made me squee anyway was particularly well-timed and helped me go to bed on a really really nice note. Thank you so much! I'm just as pleased as can be that you liked this so much. :D

First off, I have to say again how thrilled I am that the image I was going for with the bomb shelter and the women going to Jesus' tomb came through just like I'd hoped! I'd wondered if anyone would pick up on it or if I was just being a crazy English nerd going for something like that in fanfic, lol. Of course I was playing with a few of shield_wolf's theories there and with the blood in St. Mungo's, which didn't pan out in canon...Though we didn't get them directly contradicted, either, did we? I think mainly I was just going for a positive slant to what he goes through; yes, it's a horrible descent each month -- but he returns from it as Remus, and there are people who love him waiting for him on the other side. I wanted him to ( ... )
