I'm such a bad reviewer... katsie April 5 2007, 17:02:59 UTC
You should know that you are evil. That's a horrible place to leave us (and her)!

I realized that I hadn't commented on the last two chapters of this, but I have been waiting breathlessly for each new update.

I appreciate how you haven't made the parental problems go away and neither of them is automatically welcoming poor Remus with open arms. Also, showing how it is affecting how they interact as well as fueling all of Tonks' (and Remus' too, no doubt) insecurities.

If her parents blame her injuries on Remus, I'll kill them myself though.

And I want the outtake! It's going to be the night before the mission to collect Harry, isn't it? Although I'd also be happy with a childhood flashback from Tonks, I bet she got all the neighborhood kids attention with that pig snout of hers :)

I really am evil, and this probably won't be the first time you say it, either...

Thank you so much for commenting! I'm thrilled to know you're enjoying this fic. I've never done a WIP before, and it's a fun, if somewhat nerve-wracking experience, and it's encouraging to know you like where the plot's going. Especially pleased you like what I've done with the Tonkses, as they've been very interesting to write.

Yepper, that's the outtake! Very glad you're interested. Now if I can just find the time...

Thank you for stopping over here! I popped by your journal the other day because you'd said some great stuff at metamorfic_moon and I wanted to know a little more about you. I meant to friend to comment, but RL has beeen a bit hectic the other day and I didn't get a chance. Forgive me for that! So first things first, I'd be delighted for you to friend me, and I hope you don't mind me returning the favor ( ... )

Apologies for taking so long to get here - but it is quicker than I've got to Snidgets? ;)

Thoroughly enjoyed this; particularly the end where everything kicked off, which was everything an action sequence should be - fast paced, our heros in unexpectedly big trouble, a lot of it of their own making, and a truly evil ending. Great stuff.

Also enjoyed how you followed on from the previous chapter's dinner with Mum and Dad; that it bothers Remus, but apparently not to any great degree because it's what he expected, but that it bothers Tonks enormously, even though it's exactly what she did expect. Thought this part summed that up really micely:

Remus had gifted her with his parents' blessing from beyond the grave, but she wasn't able to reciprocate. And it seemed like an essential thing to have.I really liked the fact that the old insecurities about why their relationship went awry are still there, eased but not forgotten, and possibly ready to surface when the author obviously decides it's time for a bit of trouble, lol ( ... )

Um, that's nicely, not micely - I'm not suggesting Remus and Tonks need to borrow Crookshanks, lol.

No apologies necessary, my dear. It's always nice to get a comment. Especially when they're as thoughtful as yours ( ... )

I finally found time to read this. I enjoyed the little tidbits about Tonks's home life with her parents and about her perfectionism. It works really well with the character you've created for her.

I liked the broom snogging, but I have to admit that the broom-ride went on a tad too long for my tastes. But you made up for it once they made it to the house. All the little clues, and then the big fight were great. And I am looking forward to seeing them work out their issues about going on missions together--not to mention I want to see the resolution of this cliffie!

Looking forward to the next chapter. :)

Glad you got a chance to read the chapter, and I'm glad you liked it! The scene at the Tonkses' house was really tricky, and I felt like I'd rushed through it, so I'm glad you liked it and the fight scene. And of course I'm pleased you're looking forward to what's next. Currently real life and that fence-building project are getting in the way of writing time, but I'm going to buckle down the latter half of this week and git 'er done!

Remus, of course, hadn't so much as a single ruffled feather as he went on: "He and James made them in third or fourth year, so they could communicate during separate detentions. Harry thought they might be of use to the Order."

Of course he wouldn't. And I like that Harry thought that, they really could be. and it amazes me how much those boys did in a short span of time. While they were becoming Animagi, they were making the Marauder's Map, creating mirrors and who knows what else, and still had time to prank the entire school.

"Sirius never told you how to do it?"

Heh poor Moony. Love his excuse though. So true!

"Most of the time when they got detentions without me, I wasn’t speaking to them."

LOL I love that. Wouldn't surprise me either. Ah that's so great.

Maybe blokes accepted hierarchies of friendships without getting their feelings hurt? Maybe Remus was blokier than she sometimes gave him credit for?Who the hell knows. And he probably is, he's just too awesome to always let it show. I think it's funny that after those ( ... )

She did get closer to him -- when her broom tipped and she had to cling to him to avoid that spiralling plunge she'd forgotten all about.

HAHAHA I think they forgot about an important fact- that they're not on stable ground.

Smirking! Who bloody smirked after a full-on snog in the middle of the sky? Git.

A Marauder, apparently ;) I like what Remus said before this though, about the blood rushing from her head. Turning it onto her now hahaha

It wasn't paranoia.

That sent a chill through my body.

They don't sleep together.

that's sad to hear.

It's not Dark, either -- not like what I sensed by the doors."

Then I wouldn't like what he sensed by the doors. Weird as all hell.

you can at least be sure that they love you very much."

Aw. I love that Remus sees that and tells her that.

"The Floo Network itself being watched? Remus, that's ridiculous. The Ministry haven't cause to spy on my parents."

Honestly...do they need reason? :P

At the fireplace, a hooded and masked figure worked in a perverse mockery of Father ( ... )

Hee! It is an evil cliffie, but at least you don't have to wait a couple weeks for chapter 4 like everyone else did. ;)

I'm so glad you liked the broom flight and all the info that was packed into it. I hope that most of it will end up paying off later, especially the tidbits about Ted and Andromeda...

Thanks for your comments!
