Oh, dear Molly: "But what will you see?"

Interesting the way Molly refuses to tell Remus about how this has fundamentally hurt Tonks. Oh, I'm looking forward to seeing more of how you have Remus and Tonks deal with this separation.

Lovely details, as always. I like the forshadowing with Bill and Fleur. And really, you do include such lovely light moments with the angsty.

Interesting the way Molly refuses to tell Remus about how this has fundamentally hurt Tonks.

I really enjoy the contrast of Molly, who's somewhat loose-lipped when it comes to voicing her displeasure, restraining herself in this case. She strikes me as the type who has probably nagged Remus whenever it enters her head prior to Christmas, yet apparently she hasn't said anything too specific, because Remus seems absolutely gobsmacked by Harry's revelation about Tonks' changed Patronus. This was, of course, a build-up to that, and I'm glad it stood out to you as intriguing.

I like the forshadowing with Bill and Fleur.

Thank you! I'm a tremendous Fleur fan, and I adore the way her love story unerscores R/T.

As always, I really appreciate your thoughtful comments. I'm glad you're finding some light moments in this, too - it's one of my goals, in the HBP stories, to work in a bit where I can.

Really liked the interaction between Remus and Fleur.

Thanks so much! Fleur's one of my favorite characters, and I'm enjoying weaving her into my version of R/T where I can, since her outburst in the hospital scene is so instrumental in bringing Remus around. I think she's oversimplified too much in fandom, just as Remus' "too mantra" is -- and I think they might parallel each other in just as many ways as Tonks and Fleur do. (And really, who can blame the poor girl for saying quasi-tacky things about Tonks when Molly and Ginny are so open in their dislike of Fleur, and praising Tonks every chance they get?)

Thanks for reading and dropping a line. And I'm sorry I'm so rambly today. :)

I like the Weasleys, and I like Fleur - the wonderful thing about those sections of HBP was that you could sympathise with both of them (although I feel sorrier for Fleur, who was in a rotten situation, but I could imagine that the female Weasley felt somewhat, albeit unconsciously, intimidated by her.)

Oh, don't get me wrong - it's perfectly understandable that Ginny, in particular, feels intimidated by Fleur. I think it's rather amusing, though, that Bill is supposed to be so handsome, yet Molly and Ginny almost rue the fact that he got such a pretty girlfriend. True, Fleur doesn't project a Triwizard Champion image, and she can be pretty obnoxious... Good comedy all around with those three.

And good drama, too. :)

Thank you! I've been having serious withdrawal issues since the end of the recent ficathon. One gets a bit spoiled after having a daily R/T fix.
This piece, while quite sad, had a lot of nice things in it. I liked Remus' interaction with Fleur. She often gets the short end of the stick but there's got to be more to this gal if she was a Tri-Wizard Champion.
It hurts my heart to see Remus constantly berating himself for thinking "human" thoughts or for taking a bit of comfort in things that others take for granted. Even knowing what the future holds, there's still a lot of angst to get through but I know you'll navigate it well and I look forward to the next piece.

RT fic's been pretty scarce these days, hasn't it? I'm glad this one gave you a little fix. Hopefully I'll get back to my more regular pace, especially since I've got the next few in various stageous of written-ness.

Oh, I agree completely, and am so glad to see some other Fleur fans out there! Her snobbery amused me in GoF, but I liked her nonetheless because she did seem to have a good heart through it all. And I just feel as bad for her in HBP as I do for Remus. She puts up with a lot of unjustified hostility, especially from Molly, who really ought to know better.

It hurts my heart to see Remus constantly berating himself for thinking "human" thoughts or for taking a bit of comfort in things that others take for granted.Oh, it kills me to write it...Of course, in some sick way, I enjoy it...His angst is just delicious. I guess because I want to comfort him ( ... )

I’ve been in withdrawal too! I am so glad to have something else of yours to read!

I really enjoyed Remus and Fleur’s interaction she has to be a smart, capable young lady in order to have been a TWC, all to often she’s depicted in a highly unfavorable light. And Remus’ self deprecation certainly tears on the heart strings.

Thanks so much! Oddly, the Remus-Fleur interaction was what actually inspired this piece, though I didn't have enough time to work it into the original version I wrote for rt_challenge. I'm so glad to know you liked that part, and that it added to Remus' emotional depiction.

This is an updated one from the rt_challenge, right?

At any rate, it was really good. I liked how Fleur empathized with Remus. It seemed very realistic. Nice job =)

Yup, I just wrote the Molly-Remus scene for the challenge, and the whole beginning and end (and some of the M-R talk) are completely new. Thanks so much for looking at it again and taking the time to comment. I'm glad to know this was believable to you.
