I love these categories. Your section on phones is akin to the number of stories I've written that take places in kitchens. ;)

Should I add the "can you tell I'm feeling awkward when I write the beginning of fic that is even remotely smutty?" category? Hahahaha.

I have a few fics with kitchens. But I have SO MANY with hotel rooms. What. The. Heck.

*snort*

Jack woke with a start, his head pinned down, unable to draw a full breath.

Best. Opening. Ever. (Or maybe just to those of us that live this everyday??? Ha.)

I'm kind of afraid of this meme!? Yikes. But kudos to you, man. Because it was fun reading through yours and interesting that you discovered some trends and such. Hmm.

Doooo eeeeeeeet!!! You should! Most of mine were not bad, really, just meh. Those generally didn't make it into the entry, lol. It's just more fun to post the instances of "hey, are you going to come to some punctuation here eventually??"

I suspect mine would be the very opposite of that! Lol. And yes, Vala does like to talk, which is why we love her :)

Huh, this is kind of cool. I must have missed Zip's - will have to go find that. Interesting that you were able to kind of categorize, though I don't thing your Zzzzzz ones are so snore-worthy. It's just the first sentence! :)

seriously, is every new novel written in first person now? Sadly, I think so. :S LOL about fanfic = third person present tense! We do love to do that, don't we.

Interesting that you were able to kind of categorize

I totally cheated by not doing the 20 most recent ones, though, since I'd never done the meme before. So I could cherry pick for categories, lol.

I wonder if the present tense thing is just a fad or indicative of a larger mentality toward fanfic?

Does it say something about me that THAT'S the comment I choose to dwell on here?

Seriously, though, this was fun--both because it's funny to see how you grouped them and also to try to remember which fic each comes from.

Well, if it does, then it must say it about me, too, because I'm still mulling on and off on it. There's been a lot of the present tense for at least the last several years in fanfic, right? So if it's a fad it's not a passing one. Maybe it's because we don't have corporate structures here to tell us that's not how it's supposed to be done?? Idk!

I did this as well back in April and except for the last three, which is one Torchwood and two Arrow stories, the rest is all Stargate. Some are not yet linked on my LJ though, I really should change that. Then again, May probably isn't the best month to post Christmas stories. Then again, I hear it has snowed today in Berlin!

Anyway, you can access my list here: http://dieastra.livejournal.com/57236.html

A friend suggested we also do one with our last lines. I might be tempted to do that one day.
