1) I have been/will be messing about with my friends lists on LJ and DW. New year and all, I guess? Among other things, I am trying to get my DW list current, which it really really hasn't been. Same name over there, so feel free to add me as you like if I miss you. Also I am trying to get my LJ list a bit more up to date - I have missed adding ( Read more... )

I LOVE CONNIE WILLIS.

*cough*

Okay, I'm good.

Also, I'm also happy/sad about the Fringe finale. I have determined I will purchase the entire series once it's out <3

I LOVE CONNIE WILLIS.

Hahaha! This is basically how I feel about the subject. I somehow did not discover her until last summer? I don't know how. Anyway, I have read the Oxford Time Travel series and half of a book of short stories at this point. I've got Kindle sample chapters from some of her other books, so I'm planning to read more, but I'm totally okay with taking my time in this case. (Also, my head is still stuck with Polly in the last book!)

Definitely one of those series that's worth the money to own, to me. Especially since every season I've basically been left going, "Well, okay, so in addition to that story I *thought* we were watching, we were also watching this other totally different story, and now I need to go watch it all again!" *g*

I discovered Connie Willis in high school with "To Say Nothing of the Dog" (which is my favorite novel of all time). <3 "The Doomsday Book" makes me cry every time I read it and that's saying something because I don't. I thought she missed the mark on her novel "Passage". It's well written and intriguing but the ending drags on for way too long IMO. I need to go back and re-read her other stuff. I've basically stuck with the Oxford Time Travel series as I really enjoy her take on time travel and such :)

Just realized how closely related in theme #2 and #3 are. Sort of. In terms of time travel, and changes rippling back and forth. I suspect a theme here. ;) (which is probably all my fault anyhow)

Hee! Well, the Fringe is all your fault, anyway, so thank you for that. ;) We may have to talk more about this....

(Haven't seen that icon of yours in forever. *loves*)

Please keep me! *clings*

I have a DW account but am rarely there. I can't afford to have two paid accounts and most of my fandom groups are here.

Hee! Of course!!!

I really just seem to have a few folks friended that haven't been active in like a year or more, and I never see around anymore. It's more like an 'inactive accounts are more insecure' kind of thing.

Yeah, the comms will definitely keep me over here vs. DW absent some other big motivator. But there've been so many technical difficulties lately that I sort of thought it would be good to find everyone pre-emptively!
