Multi-purpose birthday-celebrating fic

Feb 13, 2009 09:34

Happy birthday to ziparumpazoo! Who is fun and fabulous and really awesome, and who is possibly my long lost evil twin understands my life in ways that are fairly eerie at times. I hope it is a great day!

The rest of this post is birthday-celebrating fic for both supplyship (belated) and ziparumpazoo. Kate, this is not the fic I meant for your birthday; it's actually one I ( Read more... )

*is positively fidgety this morning with glee, and possibly too much syrup*
Oh wow, today got even better - you posted fic! Cute, fluffy, sweet, touching, and so very true to s/j fic!

Carter, that I suck at this Air Force wife bit."

I love this line! It just says so much about the waiting and the role reversal and Jack's discomfort at not being there to look out for her in his own way, but still knowing she can do the job.

And the teasing that's such a front for all the worries and stress while SG1 was overdue. And...and...and...luvz all of it. *g*

Kate, are we lucky, or what?

Yay! I'm so so glad you like it. I mean, poor Jack, it's even worse than when he was leading the SGC, right? But I like to think they cope, partially by driving each other crazy on purpose. =)

Hope you're still having a good day! *hugs*

This is wonderful! Adorkable Jack & Sam, that's my very favorite kind.

Oh, and this line:
"On the subject of waiting, I should tell you, Carter, that I suck at this Air Force wife bit."

Best. Ever. :)

Hehe, yeah. The cuteness is what makes the angst bearable with them, isn't it? Thanks very much, I'm glad you liked it!

That was amazing. Great capture of the characters. :D

And Jack as an Air Force wife? Boy, did I get some weird images in my head. lol

OMG. I love you so much right now. This is absolutely perfect, from the little details right to the casseroles and onto the ending. Beautiful, fluffy-with-angst Sam/Jack. Eee! LOVE YOU.

Hee! Thanks, I'm completely tickled you liked it that much! And speaking of casseroles, somehow the whole fic came from one line about casseroles and ... I'm pretty sure that makes me really, really odd. *g*

Hee! Not really. I mean...I write fics where the main image comes to me from dreams. Like SG-1 turning into bunnies.

And then there are the ponies. So. On a scale of oddness? I win. *g*

*laughs* Yes, you are absolutely right. But that's the best possible kind of oddness. =)

Oh my god. There is so much to like here I don't know if I can pinpoint it all without re-posting the entire fic in the comment box!

The air force wife/spouse and the 'hate to break it to you but we're not married bit' was So - god I don't have the words. It was brilliant. And Jack's immediate response of maybe they should fix that and the ensuing conversation was just so THEM.

And then the 'my daily dose of death by staff meeting."' had me howling with laughter. Just so Jack.

This was so very much in character it was like watching a scene pop right out of the show. Really, if we'd GOTTEN that kind of good stuff out of 10 years.

I always look forward to your stories and this one didn't disappoint. Write more! :)

Aw, thanks! I'm glad it worked for you. Poor Jack, he's just kind of out there in the middle of nowhere while the rest of them *aren't* and just ... he has to cope somehow.

And you know Jack would think of staff meetings that way. Penance for a lifetime's worth of sins! *g*
