Have you read any of the apocalypse fic in the Watchmen fandom? etherati wrote a zombie apocalypse fic Now as Before and scarlet_carsons has a Cold War nuclear apocalypse fic Last Days of an Unreal City in progress. They're both great, if you're looking for some good fic of that nature.

Also, I got Inglourious Basterds for Christmas and have been watching nearly nonstop since then, so your icons are making me squee with delight. :D
