there are several must see movies that i have not bothered to see. they are not yet out on dvd and did not come to town or i knew i would hate them. there are a couple i might like that i have been unable to see. with that in mind, this was a pretty crappy year ( Read more... )

A great list-- I'd somehow forgotten about "The Lookout." I'd add "Behind the Mask," "Eastern Promises," and "The Kingdom."
Not sure what you saw in the fairly terrible "Black Snake Moan." Oh wait, yeah I do :)
I think the two best movies of the year-- and I don't think either is playing there-- are "There Will Be Blood" and "No Country for Old Men."
Once we add those two, it wasn't too bad a year, though technically I think "There Will Be Blood" is a January 2008 "just-in-time-for-the-Oscars" release.
