So I signed up for a month of Salsa classes.

Oh boy.

It's been difficult having to wipe out everything I learned about Salsa (unofficially) and going into it with a clean slate.

I'd rather fall out of a plane or ride a motorcycle.

The teacher is moving real fast, while I'm still trying to absorb lesson 1. Once I master step 1 though, the footwork ( Read more... )

my salsa lessons attempted to wipe out what i had previously known too. and yeah, it would have been way easier with a partner. whenever the instructor (usually a guy) danced with me, i was FINE. when it was another student though, i felt like i was teaching more than anything else. my main issues though revolved more around me trying to follow as opposed to lead, which happens regardless. with a good partner at least i wouldn't have to worry.

Chris, dance like no one's looking. That philosophy has served me well. :-)

Thank you Vicky, although my trouble WAS being aware that while dancing, someone of value to me would be looking, if I was out dancing.

I took care of the handicap though :) By 2nd class I completely flipped the situation :)
