So my office (HR) and the IT department for a County in PA where I work has decided to install an IM system. For some strange but very normal reason for them they went with Pandion. Never heard of it, wikipedia describes it as "Pandion is an XMPP/Jabber client, developed by Dries Staelens and Sebastiaan Deckers. Although the maintainers claim that

I have no net nanny and I went I checked their website.
A - It's Free. In fact it seems to be Open License.
2 - No it hasn't been updated in ages
III - But the Forums are active and they seem to be willing to help people setting up the program.
All in all, it seems harmless, if you need it, feel free to use it.

Not so harmless at work is only for internal use; no outside contacts and all chats are recorded centrally for possible review.
