On Rudi, Australia-Srilanka

Rudi Koertzen did something earlier today. The apology itself is not what I hope sets off a precedent. What I do hope umpires emulate is the act of accepting that they are human and can make mistakes which, as the cliche goes, could have changed the course of the game.

2001 is recent :-) ?

To give all catches that are claimed is, of course, more extreme than just letting the on-field umpires decide. But I can't see Ponting's logic - to say people will never be given out is extreme as well, though I do agree that there might be additional pressure on the TV umpire due to all the extra attention.

true, the frame not being available is something technology could improve on. It still does not make a case for human decisions/claims being more accurate.

Ponting, who has given up trying to set up an international honesty system on catches,

HAHAHAHA.
