Have you tried adjusting the brightness setting of your screen? You're the first one I know who's asked for the blue as lighter- it's looked either fine or a bit too intense for everyone else- and the red looks fine for everyone else I've asked. I can see the red as being maybe a little dark, but not enough to hinder readability significantly.
[And no, I'm not mrsarcastic003, but I'm pretty much in charge of formatting these things, so...]

Have you tried adjusting the brightness/contrast on your screen? Because everyone else I've asked says that it either looks fine, or that the blue's actually too intense... I mean, I could see how the red might be a little dark, but not enough that it hinders readability on my end...
[And no, I'm not mrsarcastic, but I'm the one who usually does all the formatting for these things, so...]
