How To Get Rid Of All Those Books That Litter Your Home - and Get New Ones!

My colleague/fellow diploma worker pointed me to this place: www.bookcrossing.com.

You must all go there! Now! Register all the books you don't want to read again but don't want to throw away because books are a little like living beings! See if anybody else wants to give away that book you've wanted to read for years! Check if somebody has ( Read more... )

I've already heard about bookcrossing, but never tried it although it seems to be an awesome idea. I have far too many books I'll never read again which occupy so much space in my shelves...

I snap crappy photos with my phone of things that might be fun to show you all, or save for the future, but I never get around to post them.

Oh, I know that feeling! I'm also thinking about LJ posts quite often, writing them in my head and spend quite some time thinking about how to express things in English - but when I'm back at the computer I'm far too lazy to actually post them *sighs*

Oh, so you're almost finished with your diploma work? I keep my fingers crossed that you'll find an interesting job! It must feel really weird to leave uni and entering the "real" world.

It seems bookcrossing is quite big in Germany, my friend (who is from Rostock) said she used to go to meet-ups with other bookcrossers at home, but that the few Swedish members didn't seem that keen on meeting in RL.

And yes, that's exactly what I do too, I have an English running commentary to my life in my head. Constantly!

I think I even heard about bookcrossing first at some German LJ community, but I didn't know that there were meet-ups.

Yes, that's it, an English running commentary (although the English in my head is usually much better than that which I write down later on)
