I woke up this AM to my news radio station talking about a new program they're putting into place here in the city - free breakfast and lunch programs for all kids under the age of 18. Because parents are having such a difficult time affording food for their children. Good lord, it's really bad (and really expensive) out there.

I've been trying to be better about buying fresh meat/veggies. I've been getting the scoop about where to buy food at here...the markets are supposed to be wonderful.

I've thought about you quite often these days. Charlie has decided he's going to be a vegetarian. He's doing really well considering he's only 8...he slippped up yesterday (had chicken noodle soup), but he's pretty serious about it.

Yeah, the whole milk thing is a mystery...the same as when my kids want certain fruit and I buy it and they don't eat it and it goes bad. *rolling eyes*

I buy organic milk too, but it actually saves me money, because of the long shelf life! We hardly ever finished a 1/2 gallon with regular milk, but 1/2 gallon organic...use it up every time and it lasts a whole two weeks or whatever and it's better for us!

But, like SL, I can buy fruit that Abi *has* to have and then throw most of it away. Ugh. (Well, sometimes I buy it for myself and kind of forget about it, too *rolleyes*)

I think, I really have to go search for organic milk! And if I do find them, I bet they're gonna be very expensive. I am pretty sure all our milk are imported... as our fruits... vegetables... heck.. pratically everything! LOL.
