Does anyone know of any free photoediting software out there? I want to be able to crop people out of a photo on-line, no fancy stuff. Can I edit on a site like snapfish and then download the photo back to my pc? when I've tried to do this I have to post a link to the photo and I don't want to do that.

thank you thank you. I just downloaded it, it has tons of functionality, I'm having trouble even finding a crop button, but I'll figure it out.

thanks again

Here's how to crop in Gimp -

* open the image (File / Open)
* choose the FIRST icon from the LEFT on the toolbox (it looks like a gray rectangle) - this is the rectangular selection tool.
* select the area on the image with the tool (click - hold left button to drag out the rectangle)
* Image / Crop to selection

Alternately, if you want to crop to a desired size, I think it's easier to just create a new empty image with the desired size, paste the image from the original file and drag it around (let me know if you need help with that too).
