Not related but I've been researching great grandma Rose and Grandma Julia for my final paper for 20th Cent Hist Comparative*, and spending a lot of time looking at things like Késmárk, Hungary in 1910, and Ellis Island,Ohio at that time, and thinking how I wish I had a better memory because I know that I knew her when I was small but I can't really remember her. In spite of saying that, it is a settling experience in an odd way.

Késmárk is pretty small, isolated, and has a bit of history itself. I think at one point this week I was (might have been) looking at church my great grandparents got married in.

* We have to write about the experiences of our family from 1900 to now and I am doing this from the angle of four women: great grandma Rose, her daughter Julia, Julia's daughter Sharon, and then myself(not my choice to write about me but part of requirement of the paper.)
