Hypothetical conversation, real topic.

So you'll be in California two weeks from now. Yep. Sitting on the sand, basking in the sun.... No, the other California. Sitting on the rocks, basking in the fog? Bingo.

I really do hope they're very happy there.

Maybe I should do a phone post. Hmm. One of these days I will do a Language Lesson Tape phone post from Minnesotan to English.

Your other monkey is welcome, too, and I only wish that I thought it was likely to be a dog-friendly venue.

I like reading the things you post.

Every once in a while, you post something that makes me just sit at my computer and think, "I like Mrissa."

This was one of them.

I hope that things go as well as they possibly can, that you have a couple pleasant surprises, and that when the trip is over and you're safe home again, you're glad you went.

Take care.

So are you going to come see me while you're out there?
No.
Awww. Why not? Is it because you don't love me any more?
Probably. Or else I never loved you to begin with, because ours was a doomed and tragic passion.

Understood. I felt it immediately, too. For the sake of Livejournal, we'll keep up appearances, but if I end up throwing myself in front of a steam-powered Russian novel, we'll both know why.

Yah, okay. And then when someone speaks your name I will get out a lace-edged handkerchief but not actually cry, and I will repeat your name gently: "Ah, yes. Poor dear Avocado Vippix. He is...missed."
