All one, plus two more.

In my head all cons are one con. So if I've ever seen you at a con, my brain expects to see you at World Fantasy Con this weekend. This is one of the many ways in which cons are like comic stores. Or like libraries if you subscribe to the Terry Pratchett view thereof. (I find it faintly heretical, like asserting that all grandmothers are really ( Read more... )

I'm going to be quoting your third and fourth paragraph some time in the future when people ask me what the psycho-emotional benefit of underplaying my work is.

Mind you, my reaction to your earlier post was, "Well, of COURSE your book is good," so while I understand what you are saying exactly, that doesn't mean I think you should suffer from doubts. I will bet you seven kittens* and a candy bar that your book is not crap.

I am allergic to kittens anyway.

We are west of the Mississippi, in case there is any doubt. West! WEST!

We are just south of the Minnesota River, and just west of where it meets the Mississippi. So no, Wisconsin is still a ways off. We count on Hastings to keep Wisconsin at bay!

Actually I don't know that I'm bringing bars to this con. I'm leaning towards not: no one has asked, and they're hard to pack well.

"Pack" is a list item with a separate printed list, but "swimsuit in plastic bag" is on that list.

It feels much safer to think things are crap...

Yes. I have to manage just enough bookloff to keep writing, but not so much I get nervous and... start thinking of how sad I will be if no one else loffs it.

Or if the other people who loff it loff you personally and have no positions with reputable publishing firms. Yes.
