We did ten loads of laundry yesterday. Ten. My mom said, "Didn't you do laundry before you left for Omaha?" No. I was writing a book. And the weather was varied enough between cool and warm that it was really not a problem, what with towels and dustcloths and this and that, to accumulate ten loads of laundryThis has to be some kind of record ( Read more... )

At my most stretched-out, right where I run out of socks and encounter the uncomfortable underwear, I can take up four washers at the laundromat. That requires some planning, though; the weather should be nice enough for T-shirts at the beginning, then turn into sweater weather (which may edge into five loads). It also requires a desperate jeans wash in the middle. So ten loads for three people? That just means you have more than a week's worth of clothes.

Oh dear... my first thought was, "you own enough laundry for ten loads?" And then I realized, even with my limited wardrobe, living alone, I can easily do two a week. When I've been skimping, three are necessary. And you live with two big guys whose laundry takes up more room in the washer. You should feel lucky it was ONLY ten.

God bless washing machines!

"This has to be some kind of record for filthiness of three adults living in a house."

No. For example, there are people who never throw away anything in the refrigerator. I mean this very, very literally. If the refrigerator fills up over the years? Get a second refrigerator. Repeat as each one fills up.

I agree with dsgood. NOT a record for filthiness, oh, no.

Also, this comment made me laugh. I can picture a garage filled with refrigerators, because someone decides this is a good plan. Or, wait, wait - a warehouse. )eeks(

Good gods. I've been reading too many stories based on online gamers... Heh!

Thank you, dsgood.
