16 Fruitful Years

August 3, 2003, I created my journal, Dreams in a Drawer, and came up with my screen name MrDreamJeans. I was in La Crosse, Wisconsin at the time. Though I initially only wrote three posts that first month and didn't write again until 2004, this journal has been my partner longer than any other relationship. I continue on

I have had this journal since 2000 when we moved to Florida. In 2013 we took a road trip and met some of my lj friends. Luckily, Roy was all for it and he had a great time and loved everyone as I already did. Even met pondhopper and her husband who were here from Spain for part of the summer which was why we went at that time. It was a most memorable trip and I am so glad we took it. I have made some lasting friends. I hope you and I can meet one day. Just yesterday I thought of you when I was talking about a road trip to Texas to see my friends in Willis. I have not seen them since Roy died. Maybe one day the stars will all align, and you will plan a trip to Texas when I do!

Kat, I'm generally in Texas every year now in December. This year, I'm planning to spend close to the entire month in the Austin area. I've already told my employer I'm not working for about six weeks at that time of year. Since, I have no yard or snow removal duties here and now I live in a secure community, I'm simply going to lock the door, alert the community manager, pack up the car, load Georgie and he and I will hit the road. I would really like to meet you, too!!

What were you doing in LaCrosse? :o

I was staying with my ex. We had just completed a massive double move. Tim from San Francisco back to La Crosse and me from Seattle back to Brenham, Texas. He had just created his Live Journal and suggested it might be a good site for my tastes and talents in writing. He was absolutely right ... I have 16 years of proof.
