Ole Devil Moon

Nov 12, 2009 09:07

I wasn't going to post today, but the networks have served up a plateful of excellent offerings this week. Yesterday morning, Cheyenne Jackson and Kate Baldwin performed "Ole Devil Moon" from the Broadway revival of "Finian's Rainbow". I know Cheyenne from the Seattle musical theater community and I am delighted for his success. What a nice way to ( Read more... )

Cheyenne Jackson was one of the performers on the cruise last February. He put on a fun show :)

Glee is dvr'd so will have to try and watch soon. I've heard a few people rave about it. It's been so hit and miss for me. What I like I really really like but what I don't (most of the storylines with the adults) bugs me a lot :P

Then you will adore last night's episode of "Glee"! I hope I didn't mention anything that you would consider a spoiler.

Cheyenne is a sweetie .. "family" ... He moved from Seattle to NYC about five years ago and has now appeared as a leading man on Broadway in four or five shows, including "Xanadu". He was always ambitious, but I applaud that. He's always had the ability to back up the drive. Plus, he's a pretty good looking kid, don't ya think? :)

HUGS!

no worries on spoilers... they are hard to miss when you don't watch timely. You didn't say anything that was even remotely spoilerific anyway :)

If I remember right Cheyenne was there with his boyfriend but maybe he just said he was looking for a boyfriend LOL No, he made the bf come up on stage now that I think about it. Both adorable :)

I like that Cheyenne is completely out, yet is playing leading man roles on the Broadway stage. It's more common in theater than in other forms of media; but still, it's nice to see and hear.

In 6th grade I played "Henry" in the Sacramento Music Circus' production of "Finian's Rainbow". Yup, that's my claim to fame.
In need to get more info about this Dizzy Feet benefit Nigel is doing. The fact they are going to have the cast from SYTYCD and DWTS (and others) all on the same stage seems really cool.

It does! Have you been making time for both shows? I find that SYTYCD is on opposite some of my favorite programming; I don't have a DVR or Tivo, so the choice is always gonna be NCIS for me.

Devil Moon is indeed a beautiful song and, yes, a good way to start off the day

I just ordered Cheyenne's duet album with Michael Feinstein, The Power of Two. It includes a duet on the little-known "We Kiss In Shadows" that I'm very anxious to hear.

I'd not heard of this album! I'm going to put it on my Christmas Wish List!! Is that song from "The King and I"?

Yes, it is. But I think I got the title wrong; I believe it's "We Kiss in a Shadow". The CD is based on their duet show that ran this past Spring at Feinstein's at the Regency in NYC.

I was thinking more of income from television or film appearances .. work ... but, you point is valid. I don't look down on prostitutes. As is so often said, it is the world's oldest profession.

By the way, is it too early to say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Big HUGS!
