I swear we're not raising a hipster. We don't dress Nate in Ramones shirts or take him to Shellac concerts or anything like that. harebell says our neice loved a Bonnie album "Master and Everyone" and she's not yet two. Interesting coincidence. Kids can have tastes that aren't confined to predetermined "kid" tastes.

My kid brother loved Jane's Addiction at around 6 or 7, and started going around singing "SEX IS VIOLENCE!!!"...

My musical interest didn't even start until I was 8! I guess my folks didn't listen to music (which is actually because they were fundies and music was supposedly evil.)

Daughter really liked ZZ Top's Blue Jean Blues when she was little. Said she liked that the baby was able to find it's way home.

She's been raised on basic classic rock and blues, with a bit more than average Jethro Tull. So far, despite access to family iTunes library in her room and an iPod to use, she's not really in to music. Is a lot more visual, liking movies and art.

Is a bit weird to me, as I remember pulling out L.A. Woman album for my Dad to play, over and over, as a toddler. I loved the thunder storm sounds on Riders on the Storm.
