dreamhost (if you're still on dreamhost) has an easy installer for wordpress, which will allow you to install add-on themes and plugins, etc.
this is probably your best bet, unless there's something very specific you're looking for.
there are some other hosted services out there (some free or free-ish and others not free), but as with lj you're at the mercy of whoever's running the service. if you're using this for more of a business purpose, you're going to want more control consistency than many of them will offer.
I think you're all absolutely correct. I do have a Dreamhost/Wordpress blog. The only problem is that the comments become littered with spam at an alarming rate. No comments then, which will suit the purpose of the project I intend to pursue. Thanks!
