Reading List

Mar 25, 2009 20:14

OK, so here is my reading list for 2009.  It might be kind of ambitious but I'm going to try.  Heck I've already got 4 done.  Which isn't really that impressive.

Song of Ice and Fire Series - George R.R. Martin
A Storm of Swords
A Feast for Crows
Dance with Dragons

The Chronicles of Prydain - Lloyd Alexander
The Book of Three
The Black Cauldron ( Read more... )

list, books, 2009, reading

I never got around to finishing the Prydain books. I'd really like to someday.

Holy crap! I never knew about this one!

They are excellent and are a pretty quick read. I have them in a physical format as well as the e-books I'm reading if you'd want to borrow those. Then maybe I can borrow Twilight Princess from you? :)
I think you have that.. maybe not.

It'll be a while before I jump back on the Prydain books, sadly ... feel like my next many months of entertainment reading are already booked (pun intended?).

But hell yeah, I can loan you a game. No problem there. :)

Ooooh, you are way more up to date on Dresden than me. I am still books behind. So, do you read books not on the list?

I read all the Dresden books in 2007-2008. I suppose I could add to the list, but I think I'm pushing it to finish all of these in 2009. Then I'll generate a new list next year, since there are like 2 dozen more disc world books at least I need to read.

I love the Prydain chronicles so much that I keep accidently buying more copies for the kids I used to sit for. Did you ever play the game for the early Apple computers? I always got stuck in Hen-Wen's pen.
The Dresden files make me so happy, even when there's an occasional not-awesome book. Have you heard the audiobooks by Buffy's James Marsden? Aural sex.
I love Lemony Snickett too, but fell off the serious while waiting for one o them to come out. I should just knock them out now. Got the kids I used to babysit for hooked on those too.
And Zilpha Keatly Snyder books gave me the heeby-jeebies as a kid. Loved them. Haven't seen that series before, so I might have to check those out.

There it is, a blast from the past (remember Julie Todd?) that likes your taste in books.

There was a Prydain game for the Apple II? OK I gotta find that and load up my Apple emulator.

I haven't listened to an audio book since high school. I really did enjoy some of them. I think I'll like the hybrid e-book/audio book features on the Kindle2.

So far I haven't read any ZKS books, but I did play the C-64 game Below the Root which was done to tie up some loose ends left at the end of the trilogy. It was a great world, I know my dad read them and liked them. Also those are the only three on the list that I might actually have to buy physical copies of.

Awesome to hear from you, I was just thinking about you the other day. All this news with newspapers closing or changing models, I was wondering how you were doing out there?
