I am having the very surreal experience of listening to a live performance "Under African Skies" by Elton John while typing this. He's appearing at the Botanical Gardens in Emmarentia, Johannesburg tonight which is about a kilometer from my home

Concerts in the Park

Ever so often, but usually with local artists - this was the first real international act. They must have had quite a crowd and some serious sound equipment to hear him so clearly. I though of going but it was actually raining quite heavily in the evenings with regularity the last while, and it rained in the afternoon yesterday with a slight drizzle at sunset. The ticket prices were also quite steep
