I hope they don't make Roger Douglas minister of finance, he's a rabid monetarist. Bill English sounds like he may understand things like counter-cyclical policy, he's even probably a better Keynesisn than Michael Cullen. And on the subject of the right wing of the Labour party, I hope Phil Goff doesn't take the leadership.

Personally, I'm a fan of Chris Carter. I don't imagine there is much chance of him being party leader though, after the comment from the tv3 election panel last night* went uncontested. I guess I'm just out of touch with what counts as acceptable discrimination in middle NZ.
