I've been very lucky with work to the end of the year, so we treated ourselves to lunch at Midsummer House apropos of nothing in particular, except that a good lunch is a magnificent thing.

I love food at this time of the year.

I think that's the best thing about these top-end restaurants. If you're comfortable to ask (and the good ones *make* you feel comfortable), they will do more or less anything you ask, within reason, and talk to you about it, if they think you are making a mistake!
