just like vietnam in many ways. our returning boys and girls are not heros. they are not patriots and help up to the light. they are victims, and for the most part (excepting certain notables), invisible, and should not make waves.
unlike vietnam, the protests against about georgie's actions and policies... fall on apparent deaf ears. it's amazing really. really really amazing. if it weren't for the net, nobody would hear this stuff, because no US news agency has the balls to run it. at falcon ridge, a wacko had a point: back in the day, people made songs, people heard them, stuff happened. now? write a song? make a comment? the corporations that own your franchise will silence you. real patriotism isn't profitable. corporate patriotism is about raping this country even after its dead dead dead.

I think them putting up, say, Putin wouldn't have the same impact in NZ. If I'm ever down there I am defniitely eating in Hell.
