A friend of mine ran across this story on church acoustics.Interesting, but a flawed premise, I think. In the old days, the buildings weren't designed to provide the best acoustics for the music...Church music evolved to fit the acoustics of the building, i.e. Palestrina motets, which work most effectively in rooms with an incredibly long echo... It's been sleeting this morning, and walking in to work from the parking lot across the street was a challenge. Then I walk in to the theatre and Stan is playing "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" on the Wurlitzer. If we could figure out a way to pipe the organ music out to the parking lot, we could open a skating rink. -

The pigeons are scuttling against the french doors on the balcony, probably for the heat, since it's colder than you know what out there.
