We need to get Baltar to talk, says the Admiral, and we believe he trusts you enough to do it if you initiate the conversation.

Far enough in the back of his mind that he's barely conscious of it, Gaeta swallows down a hysterical laugh. He keeps his back straight; he doesn't look away from Adama.

After what Gaius has been through, he has the right. He looks up from his position sitting on the cot, pressed against the corner of the cell, knees pulled against his chest.

"Hello, Felix," he says gently, as though this were nothing more than a morning briefing on New Caprica.

"Dr. Baltar," he returns.

Not Gaius. (Not President Baltar, either, which he feared for an instant he might say.) Gaeta takes a step into the cell; he holds the papers in front of himself, both hands loosely clasped around the folder, as if to divide his presence from Baltar's.

The Marine clangs the door shut behind him.

His mouth thins, slightly, as Gaeta throws a glance toward the table and chairs arranged in the center of the cell. Two more steps put him directly behind the closest one; he doesn't make any move to pull it out yet.

Instead, he studies Baltar. Quiet, and as neutral as he can make it: "How are you being treated?"
