Lascelles is strolling outside, taking a leisurely late-afternoon walk through the gardens, when he happens upon Drawlight on his bench. Hesitating a moment, and clearly considering just walking on as though he'd never run across his erstwhile friend, Lascelles finally adjusts his path and heads towards Drawlight, calling out a drawled "Good day."

Drawlight puts down his book with what can best be described as a beam. "Hello!"

"I was unaware that you were capable of reading anything longer than the gossip column, Drawlight."

He laughs and it is surprisingly not faked. "Don't be a noodle! You know I love novels. Have you seen this one? It is called Frankenstein."

Typist: Seriously. Favorite part of the book is when Drawlight is freaking himself out by thinking about novels while they're waiting for Norrell to raise Lady Pole.
