abbey survived surgery yesterday.
$1,086!
still... a small price to pay for unconditional love.
when i picked her up, she couldn't even walk straight much less get in the car.
she was so weak and disoriented, but she still insisted on following me everywhere.
why can't humans be more like dogs?

i've never brushed my cats' teeth,
but i bought a toothbrush
because i'm worried that their teeth are gonna rot
but waiting for bath time one day to use it.

it's hilarious!
this unfortunate happenstance, however, was the result of a tug-of-war with her little brother, toby. either that, or he bumped his head on her tooth. toby is a scruffy dachshund/terrier mix. i love him, but between this and the fact that his yapping may get me evicted, i may be forced to get give him away! can't decide what to do yet...
i bet brushing a cat's teeth is pretty difficult! you'd think since animals like dogs and cats can't brush their teeth, they'd be self-sufficient in that respect, but they're teeth still get all gross and stuff. guess the food we feed 'em is the culprit!? funny cause the package says "promotes healthy teeth and gums"
oh well...

I have a 1 year old cat named Toby :D, and a 6 year old cat named Benjamin!
Toby is always picking fights with Ben and all Ben wants to do is sleep (well most of the time).
Well... if you think about it, out in the wild - dogs aren't exposed to so many starches that great sugars and let bacteria grow. Also dogs live longer in captivity, meaning their teeth get older and decay.
I'm always giving my cats treats that are "tarter control" and "hairball remedy" but they still yack hairballs on my carpet ;P
