LJ having problems just when I wanted to post. Anyway,
Many many thanks to the people at Kamiki's Baidu thread!
Chinese translation here. Disclaimer: My Chinese Language skills have
been deteriorating day by day,so kindly read with a pinch of salt.
Capable translators, please step up? T_T
I tend to translate too liberally at times, and too literally other times. As said earlier, pinch of salt is necessary.
2011.10.12 TV Life Kudo Kankuro & Kamiki Ryunosuke
Kamiki: First time acting as someone who is wasting* his life away,I feel anxious and nervous.
Kudokan: When forced to break away from the usual image, those with artistic sense** will grow even more.
*Literal translation would be 'rushing for nothing', he's busy but it adds nothing to his life.
**文艺气息的人/文化系の人.. what is a good translation for that T_T Culturally adept people? Good cultural sense?
TL (TV Life): The script is really interesting!
Kamiki: I like Kudo-san's dramas too, especially "Tiger & Dragon". When I first read "11 nin mo iru!", I really thought that it is interesting, honestly speaking I was a little worried whether I could act Kazuo well.
TL: To Kamiki-san, what is the essence of Kudo-san's scripts?
Kamiki: Dialogue. When something is being expressed, the dialogue is always surprising. There's sublety yet it feels very real. In addition he is very fond of using real names as comparison, for example Lady Gaga (laughs)
Kudo: This is relatively nothing much (laughs)
TL: What does Kudo-san want Kamiki-san to do in the drama?
Kudo: Taking on everything in the family by himself, constantly fretting and short-tempered oldest son. It suits Kamiki-kun. Forcing people with artistic sense has more meaning.
Kamiki: I was made to do so (laughs)
Kudo: When they are forced to break away from the usual image, those with artistic sense will grow even more. The character design revolves around "The person who doesn't seem like he'll do this sort of things, actually did it......"
Kamiki: First time acting as someone who is wasting his life away,I feel anxious and nervous. But 2 days into the drama shoot, I felt that I had grasped Kazuo's character while filming the "Why am I always so unlucky" scene.
Kudo: Kazuo shoulders all the impossible problems, wanting to alleviate his family's lives and creates all the irreversible situations. He loses something every episode.
Kamiki: Ahaha! Kazuo always gives his best and presses on determinedly until he slowly starts to lose control. His good point is that he'll never give up no matter what.
Kudo: Everyone will say "Ganbare!" to encourage the Kazuo suffering from setbacks, but inside they'll think "We don't want to be like this" (laughs)
TL: That's cold...
Kamiki: For me, since my sister and I have a large age gap, I would always be happy in scenes where there are siblings of similar age.
Kudo: Your sister is older than you by?
Kamiki: 11 years.
Kudo: Uwa! Older by 11 years, that's really not easy (laughs) "Nothing for 11 years" (play on the drama title, how many times did they have this conversation again lol)
Kamiki: By the time I was sensible enough, my sister was already a high school student, it seemed like people around me are all adults, if there is a brother older or younger by 2 years we could mutually snatch each others' things or argue.
Kudo: The feeling of being in the same school but in different levels.
Kamiki: Yes! I yearn for it.

Basically, KudoKan is talking about pushing Kamiki's boundaries to see how he grow, i.e. making him do something that is 180 deg from his image.. I agree with him totally :D This article is hard because I understood what they were saying, but couldn't think of a way to express it in English >__>; And poor Kazuo, I (almost) feel sorry for laughing at the things you get yourself into.
