That is fabulous! Is it OK to pass it on? Do you know who should get credit?

I believe David wrote this himself and he is fine with sharing it, but is too shy to sign it. So I think it's fine to pass it on just crediting it to Seaman David. Sorry to be so slow to say so.

Just a FYI,
· Peacefully demonstrating against the country starting an international war is treason -- Showing up with automatic weapons to protest healthcare reform is democracy at its finest. refers to a US citizen Chris Broughton who is also Black. When asked why he did so, the reply was "Because I can." His rifle uses the mode of operation the same as millions of deer rifles in the US. There's lots more FUD in this but I'll stop here, least I wear out my welcome.

I'm not really grasping your point. Are you arguing about what weapon he was carrying? Like "automatic weapons" should read "firearms?" Or saying that his doing so really was "democracy at its finest" so the form of the piece was broken there? Or both parts are true? Or something I can't think of? (I'm not all that sharp today, I've been in an emotional spin.) Sorry to be dense ( ... )

BTW I think in many ways I'm politically as far away from the Repub mainstream as you are. My views are "more government as a problem solver, is a failure", this tends to distress most of the Left & the Right in the western world.

Our media sucks mplsvala October 9 2009, 10:07:45 UTC
I was reading a complaint recently where activists were complaining that they would stage meaningful events and be unable to get a single reporter to come out and cover their actions. When they confronted them about it, they were told that the teabaggers were much more newsworthy because of the potential for violence and the "energy level" made them more newsworthy. The lady who drove her moving truck to the home of the guy who was ultimately responsible for eviction and demonstrated on his street, went unnoticed except for his immediate neighbors. They were polite and caused no trouble, so they were ignored. Sadly, they had lots of examples.

The real problem, of course, is that big money owns all the media. So we are told what they think will make us do as they wish.
