On things to carry money and cards

I'm starting to get sick of my large wallet.  I want take advantage of not living in Australia by carrying as few cards around as possible.

My requirements for a wallet are thus:

• Vegetarian (this means no dead animals)
• Holds notes
• Holds cards

I've found two interesting wallets that meet this requirement, although for very different prices:

I have a cute wallet made out of tire inner tubes and elastic. No dead animals. Holds notes and cards. Bought it from a gift shop called Hive in Canberra.

Outdoors-y stores such as Kathmandu sell throwaway synthetic-canvas-and-velcro wallets that hold a couple of cards, a bit of change and have two notes sections, one with a zip. IIRC they cost about $10-15.
