After visiting the gym, and then Isabel, Parker headed back to her room to contemplate her future plans. Oxford. St. John's College. Class of 2011. Business, economics, languages. And tomorrow was her 18th birthday; certain things would be easier after that

Anders came by after his evening workout and shower and knocked on the door.

Hello, my little blatant bald-faced lie. Parker was so going back and checking that podcast. "Hey. Forget her. I'm sorry if she embarassed you, though." She nudged his foot. "And at least you know that there's some people who are interested, you said?"

"Assuming they weren't lying about that too," Anders said dryly. "I don't really care about the embarrassment; it's not worse than Kennedy reading my writing on the radio. It's the going behind my back to try and find out that bugs me."

Yes, apparently he was agitated enough to not realize exactly what he might have just implied.

Daisy, Daisy, Daisy. That espionage career would be *so* short. So. There was definitely something to be found out, was there?

"I doubt they were *all* lying. And Cally does need to apologize. A lot." Parker frowned. "Remind me why I'm not going to make her do that? I know there's a reason..."

"Maybe that she already apologized to me?" Anders offered. "I really wanted to bitch her out for it but I couldn't make myself. So it's been bugging me ever since."

"Hey, if you gotta be a bitch, you know you're in the right room." Parker grinned at him, evidence still piling up in her head. "And I'm glad she apologized, at least." Another sip of her frappachino. "Things will change this semester, I promise. We'll find you someone. Someone fun. Who appreciates you for who you are."

"That might be a bad idea at the moment," Anders muttered, undoubtedly adding to the evidence she was collecting. "But I still appreciate you letting me vent."

And for once, Parker decided to let that lie. She wasn't going to sneak around. Just keep her eyes open.

And then she and Daisy were going to have a talk, ohhhh, yes.

"Hey." She poked him in the side. "Tomorrow's my birthday. You have to come by and drink. And be not morose. And possibly be silly."

"Wouldn't miss it for anything, Parker," Anders told her, relieved by the change in subject. "No big bash this year?"

"Not unless someone's had time to plan one behind my back. And with Christmas, New Year's, and new kids, I somehow doubt it." She grinned. "Just come by tomorrow, I'm having a cake delivered. Bring prezzies or booze, your choice."

"Can I bring both?" asked Anders. "Damn. I would've planned one, but I've been so frakking tired it completely slipped my mind," he added ruefully.

"It is kind of a hectic time, but by the Lords of Kobol, I'll be there."

"Please, if Isabel the Organizer can forget, you're totally off the hook." She grinned. "And you *know* I'd love both. The ambrosia is getting broken out anyway. Eighteen! I can vote! I can be charged with high crimes and misdemeanors! I can... ooo. I can hit on the hot Mountie."

"That does it," Anders told her, doubling over with laughter. "I'm jealous, now."

"As well you should be." Parker looked gleeful. "I'm going Mountie-hunting tomorrow. And if I pull it off? I'm requesting evidence from the security cameras."

"Lords, Parker, you make it sound like you're going to be going after him with a net and a machete or something," Anders snickered. "And if you get footage, I want a DVD copy."

"I'd be a lot more subtle than that." Parker grinned. "Although with the right lipstick-- heh. And yes! DVD for you. Promise."
