Parker grinned and held the door open with her toe. "Yeah? Want to talk to my plants?"

Some of the blue orchids were quiet a second, then started imitating Zero, a half an octave above her.

There's sumpfin I can do fer youuuuuuu....

Parker snickered. "They're my science project. Magic and adaptation. And radiation," she added, carefully training one of the climbing ones off a lamp. "Which is getting pretty outta hand, in some ways."

The reds were singing Mr. Roboto in Japanese again.
