Parker opened the door, still on the phone, and held it open while she continued to talk. "Good. Great. Yes, I told you, we figured out the labor at this end. Fine." She hung up, muttering, "See if I use any place called Party Central again." She threw the phone at the bed, then collapsed on it. "So. There was going to be an explanation."

Honestly, she'd really, really rather not talk about this, but if she doesn't, it'll just be worse when Angel talks to Jarod later. There's always a later.

Distracted Parker was kind of cute. It was enough to get Angel to temporarily forget his feeling of oh-holy-crap-Parker's-on-to-me.

So instead he leaned against the doorway. As in the way the door should be but was now currently only blocked by an invisible non-invitation barrier, and indicated her phone. "Have the beheadings begun yet?"

Parker looked over at him, and visibly had an oh, right moment. She studied him very carefully, then blew out a breath and swallowed. "Come in, Angel."

And if you don't think those words aren't making her twitch, you don't know her at all.

Parker opened it and grinned. "You missed Angel by about ten minutes." She held the door open and gestured to the nearest chair. "Feel free to hide."

"That's something at least!" Elizabeth held up the chocolate. "Figured you'd be needing something she said, dropping down in the chair.

"*You* are a princess, even though you're not in the running," Parker vowed taking a few chocolates, then popping them in her mouth before she tumbled back onto her bed. "Next time I get assigned decorations, stop me at balloons and streamers, okay?"
