"Because I got an e-mail from a mutual friend who told me you were giving him nightmares?"

Parker frowned, shaking her head. "Who... Angelo. Oh, that brat. I told him not to worry."

"What did you tell him not worry about, Parker?" Jarod asked, voice firm and obviously not pleased.

Parker closed her eyes, feeling exhausted. "Something he didn't want me to do. Which I didn't. Weiss stopped me." She swallowed. "We have to talk in person, Jarod. Soon."

[jarodpretends]

"Good for Weiss. You know my work schedule." And hopefully by then he'd have made it through the new security on Parker's computer. Broots had done nice work.

"Tuesday? A few hours before you show up at the Sin?" Which would give her enough time to try and figure something else out. And if she couldn't... then she'd really have to tell him everything. "This might take a while."

"I'll see you at my house?" Jarod asked in a way that wasn't really asking.

"Yes," Parker whispered. She swallowed. "I'm sorry you were worried, Jarod. I'll see you on Tuesday."

"Good night, Parker." I'm glad you're safe. He hung up.
