For those of you who missed the horrific blurb on CNN.com, it seems the government overestimated the amount of aid it has yet to get to Katrina victims.

The worst part isn't that there were only $36,000 worth of sporks. The worst part is that EVEN THOSE SPORKS were likely sold as surplus govt. property, not distributed to victims.

Maybe they worried what the Katrinians would do, once armed en masse with sporks.
