Earlier this month, when Israel marked 41 years since the reunification of Jerusalem, residents of the eastern part of the city saw no cause for celebration.
Like most of the Arab homes in East Jerusalem, residents of the neighborhood of A-Tur are forced to live without infrastructure, paved roads and regular garbage collection.
Roughly one quarter of a million Arabs, all of whom hold Israeli identification cards, live in East Jerusalem, which Israel annexed after the 1967 Six-Day War. According to the Association for Civil Rights in Israel, 130,000 of them have no running water.
