I have to say- the way this was written was INCREDIBLE. The story unfolded piece by little piece and I was just on the edge of my seat the entire time. You captured the tone perfectly. I felt like I was watching a tragedy unfold and was too in shock to spring into action and change the inevitable, but wanted to so badly. Heart-wrenching! It really made me feel for James.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate this comment, wow, it's very flattering and I'm so glad you liked the story.
it's interesting that you feel for james, as one of the comments on the original posting was talking about how james should feel all the guilt he gets, for not telling anyone about albus' illness or the rape. it's just interesting, how people take the same story in different ways.
anyways, thanks again!

To be honest, I feel for everyone in this story, and that's part of what makes it so powerful I think. I didn't have one specific character to blame for the downfall of it all. In my mind, they all played a part in the tragedy- the Potter parents for stubbornly refusing to seek help, James for keeping quiet as well even when he felt the situation was out of his control, George for instigating the entire thing and raping a helpless kid.... It would have been easier on my heart if there was a clear-cut villain, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as agonizing. The reason I singled James out is because the story is through his perspective, but really I feel for them all. They all have to go through the horror of it all.
