On Saturday I met Diana Gabaldon, the author of the "Outlander" series which I love and adore. I got my picture taken with her and she autographed my copy of "A Breath of Snow and Ashes". She was such a friendly and witty woman and had no problem answering people's questions. I've loved this series since I was about fifteen so it was such an honour ( Read more... )

It does. I wanted to take it last year but it was already full so it was the first thing I signed up for today, just to be sure I got it. I can be morbidly fascinated by things like this. lol.

(English course)Shakespeare!

Oh, dear! I'm so jealous.

We enjoy a lot of the same simple pleasures, such as taking time to daydream and reading "People" magazine =)

Glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys those little pleasures. :)

The Shakespeare course is so hard to get into. I've been trying for the past couple of years and I FINALLY got it!

Those are some great course there! Though the film hisotry classes at CSULB are under the film majors and their classes are aff limits to other majors for the most part.

Actually, that course is for History majors only. It's not considered a film course, despite the fact that we view movies.

That is so cool that you met Diana Gabaldon! *jealous*

Are you gonna post the picture of you with her?

Haha! I was just gonna ask the same thing. ;-) I was just saying not too long ago "I've never seen a picture of you!!"

Those courses sound fabulous. We never had stuff like that when I was in college, way back in the dark ages.

And People magazine is one of my favorites, too.

Yeah, I used to have pictures of myself on my computer but it crashed a couple of months ago and I haven't re-downloaded anything on it since.

I'm pretty happy with my course selection. It's got a little bit of everything that interests me.
