I still haven't watched this season yet. I need to pick it up on DVD before the new one.

There is still season six you have to watch then, too. Season seven is the new one that starts in January.

I stopped watching 24 when it became torture porn, but I have to say the only true disagreement I have with you is over Chloe. I really adored that character before they ruined her. For one thing, we don't see many disabled people in main roles on TV shoes, so to have a functioning autistic (she has Aspergers Syndrome) as such a major character is a big step forward. Aspergers Syndrome people classically form huge, unflagging attachments to one person so her connection to Jack is very normal. I worked as a psychiatric counselor with severe AS folk at the Nolan Center in LA when I was in college. Chloe is classic. The actress has said she's using as a secondary character motivator for Chloe that she's in love with Jack, so that also might explain the devotion ( ... )

I've heard a lot of people mention Chloe's medical condition. Did this assumption just develop over time or was it actually mentioned in the show and I just missed it?

Tony was definately sidelined in S4 and S5 which was really disappointing to me. I don't think he "walked through the role", however, I do think the writers ran out of things for his character to do and it started to show.

Why a "tree shrew"? lol.

The original show runner's son has Aspergers and he has mentioned before that a a disability in one way is an ability in another. Chloe was his invention. When she initially appeared, it was hinted at strongly that there would be a "surprising reason" for her computer skills (when she became as popular as she is, they no longer needed to explicate it). Also, the actress has adopted a lot of the very specific mannerisms of Aspies (even down to her monotone manner of speech). Not everything in fiction is stated outright. A lot is implied and the audience is expected to pick up on it ( ... )

That's interesting about Chloe. Thanks for filling me in.

lol. Aw, that's mean about the "tree shrew", although it's kind of funny at the same time. That's a cute little animal, though. ;)
