Movie Moments--Part 10

Jul 05, 2007 00:00

In keeping with my choice of Braveheart last week, this time around I have yet another early-ninties favourite of mine. That would be the Oscar nominee and Palme d'Or winner, Pulp Fiction (1994). I know not everyone on my FList is a Quentin Tarantino fan, but that's just too bad because I love the man. I love his movies. I love the people he casts ( Read more... )

I just watched Kill Bill Vol. 1 (&2) but the first one really had me absolutely riveted. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the screen and I fell in love with the movie. I do enjoy his films but Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill Vol. 1 are up there.

I LOVE the scene that you chose. It always makes me really want a burger afterward, haha.

"Mmmm. That IS a TASTY burger!" *it makes me hungry too*

I love the Kill Bill films, especially the first one (although I love Vol. 2 because it has Budd, Elle and Bill). They really are riveting films. And so much fun to watch. You are guaranteed entertainment.

I still love Reservoir Dogs a lot more than Pulp Fiction. I suspect I always will, haha.

I was like that for the longest time. My love for Reservoir Dogs is still neverending, though. :)

I always keep going back and forth between Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs - I mean, Reservoir Dogs was what first got me into Quentin and Pulp Fiction - what I love about Pulp Fiction is the dialogue, as I think it's brilliant and witty and Sammy J. is simply amazing in the movie. The characters are rather cool, but sort of outlandish, larter than life cool. It's a black comedy, yes, but I think it's rather brilliant how Quentin was able to combine shocking imagery with funny, memorable dialogue. Quite a pop culture milestone.

Reservoir Dogs I love because it's a brilliantly done jewel heist caper, again with brilliant dialogue, and its out of order events make it intriguing, each scene strong on its own.

Yes, I am a Quentin fan, even if I think Kill Bill 1&2 were too commercialized (Vol. 2 was better than Vol. 1)

I tend to go back and forth between these two films as well. I actually saw Pulp Fiction before Reservoir Dogs. But then, a couple years later I finally watched Reservoir Dogs and I loved it. I went back and re-watched Pulp Fiction and completely loved and appreciated Tarantino.

One of the things that I love the most about Reservoir Dogs (besides the awesome cast) is the fact that we never actually see the jewel heist in action. We just hear about it. The closest glimpse we get is Mr. Pink running away from the cops. I love the ambiguity around the whole thing. What really happened and who should we trust to tell the truth?

I love the Kill Bill films. They are right up high on the list along with PF and RD. It's such a girls-kick-ass type of movie and a great homage to Japanese flicks.

Oh, definitely - the MacGuffin in Reservoir Dogs is brilliant because the audience doesn't exactly know what went on, just the aftermath of what had happened.

They are a great tribute, but I much prefer Quentin's first two movies, though the music kicked ass in the Kill Bill movies :D

I need to rent Pulp Fiction, like, immediately. I've seen the dance scene with Uma Thurman and John Travolta nearly 85 times, but I've never seen the entire thing. As it stands today, my favorite Tarantino is Reservoir Dogs.

OMG! Yes, you do! lol.

If you loved Reservoir Dogs then you will love Pulp Fiction equally as much, if not more.
