hullo dp.... I turn to your collective wisdom for advice. Lately I've been experiencing some serious roommate troubles and while I'll like to avoid involving the legal system, I'm starting to fear it will be necessary

ugh. I hate this situation.

When you say he pretty much refuses, what do you mean? You say 'I'd like you to move out by [whenever]' and what does he say?

There's clearly no way you can force him out w/o involving the landlord or some other authority, short of getting the locks changed yourself and just leaving his stuff outside.

I wonder if the Community Alliance of Tenants might have any advice? I know they have a hotline, but I don't know what it is.

not so great so far. i decided that i was gonna roll with the punches and try to make the best of a bad situation, since i had no recourse. and of course, the things that led me to ask the fellow to leave have continued and escalated. so hey, know of any open rooms?
